tech level Filter Dries
CONSTRUCTION
The
external casing and upper flange of these filters are manufactured entirely
from steel, with the specific grade and dimensions varying according to the
product line. All connection fittings are made from copper, in compliance with
EN 12735‑1 – Cu‑DHP R290.
The outer
shell is coated with more than 70 μm of powder paint, ensuring complete protection against oxidation, while
the upper flange is zinc‑plated for enhanced corrosion resistance. Every model
in the range is supplied with a ¼" NPT drilled upper flange, allowing the
installation of a charging connection (see KIT‑A).
INSTALLATION
Installing
the unit is essential to protect the system from moisture, acids, and solid
contaminants, all of which may reduce overall efficiency and cause
significant damage to the compressor and other system components.
The filter
can be mounted vertically or horizontally, but the distance “K”
(see tables and diagram) must be respected to ensure easy removal of the
filtering element. Additionally, the flow direction must always
correspond to the arrow printed on the product label.
These
filters are typically supplied with internal fittings suitable for a drier
cartridge, allowing installation on the liquid line. However, by
adding the suffix “-A” to the filter code (CSR..A PLUS, CSR..A, and
CSR..AHC), the unit can be provided with internal fittings designed to
accommodate a mechanical filtration cartridge instead.
APPLICATION
The
replaceable solid‑core filters across all product lines are classified as “Vessels”
under PED Directive 2014/68/EU, Article 2, paragraph 2, and fall within
the scope of Article 4, paragraph 1 of the same Directive. The intended
refrigerants vary depending on the specific line, and this also determines
the hazard category in accordance with the PED Directive.
Under
Directive 2014/68/EU, the hazard classification of the product is based on: •
the type of fluid used, • the intrinsic dimensions (internal volume), • the
maximum allowable working pressure (PS).
Refer to
the tables below for the hazard category of each specific model; the
classification differs between the PLUS, BASIC, and HC
lines.
